Jeffy Are You For Real

Postby mogulmaster1 on 28 Jan 2010 09:39

All the posts are anything but about real Technique.

The post and points made are nothing but a lot of half truths, misconceptions, and things that don't work on the real Mountain.

Time to try something new. Get out of the rut and you may start to see improvement.

Not to be disrespectful, but have you considered professional counseling? Just like SVMM isn't a quick fix, some quality couch time might help over time.

For those on the "banned list". Jeffy's latest video.

But yes, for sure mogul skiing is awesome fun. Did you see how much fun I had in Aspen? Go ahead and call me a rank intermediate with skid and pivot turns. I disagree. In fact, I had a group of 5 of Aspen's top level III instructors stop me on a mogul run, give me props and wanted to know what I was doing that made skiing that run look so easy. They invited me to ski with them for a few runs and we had some great discussions.

Since you asked and were in Aspen, I was hoping to see some video from Lower Stein. The terrain I saw in your video looked weak, in Sun Valley we groom those runs and mark them in yellow on the trail maps as the "Easiest Way Down". My bathtub has more pitch than that run, but your form was "squeaky clean" and it looked like you were having fun.

Nails, you are a joke, that's why no one answers your questions. We have seen you ski and you talk WAY more than you should. You need to take a PSIA course to LEVEL UP.

We skied Lower Stein and there was such little base it should have been closed. Nothing but rocks and trees and we were rewarded by having to hike out of the run. What a waste of energy.

Its good to know that you still enjoy a good bath.

I know what made skiing that run easy. It's flat. The moguls are small. How do I know this? I skied in about 45 mogul contests on that very run, except then it was called Floradora. It is the easiest mogul run in the Aspen complex except Ruthies on Aspen Mountain.

Cheeeeez Jeffy, if you went any slower on that run the judges' stand would be packed up before you reached the bottom.

Hey, I bet you did not know that Stein Erickson would drop by and throw 70 foot pike front flips off the roll near the bottom. He was on 207s.

I love the shot of you and your wife sitting on the deck of the Merry-go-Round restaurant. It brought back memories of the day - the day when all the freestyle groupies sat there.

You missed the boat by not coming to SV to ski with us. You really do have delusions of adequacy.

I hate myself when I make posts like this, but I am just too adolesent to resist.

Love ya Jeffy.

Jeffy it just occurred to me why you loved that run at Aspen Highlands. It mimics those flat, small breasted runs at the Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane.

Jeffy,
36% of Highlands is Expert Only. Did you explore this territory? Better choices for mogul skiing would have been Moment of Truth, Steeple Chase area, The Wall, even Limelight at the bottom of the hill for starters.

Did you make it out to Highlands Bowl? Missing this is a bad thing, as it has unequaled views, great pitch, and is a "must ski" when visiting the Highlands.

Love to hear back from you about your adventure at the Highlands. Hope you didn't have to camp out on Floradora the whole time in order to get the desired film footage and miss the real Highlands experience.

Scarlet's Run (really Floradora):

Back in the day the bottom 40% was mowed flat for Ballet Skiing contests. Now, there is a statement about how steep this run is or not.

Jeffy, I saw your comment over on MS.net. You said this run is the best mogul run you have ever skied. I think we finally have proof that you prefer intermediate , low angle runs.

I've never skied Floradora, but it looked like the bottom of a bathtub to me. I can see the merits of a calm upper body, but Jeffy's body was literally motionless at times, almost "statuesque", it looked like he had to "pump" to maintain what little speed he had. I thought wtf, these are the mogul skiing highlights from Aspen? Beer on the deck did look like fun, although I'd still prefer an ale and fondue at Averel's. Seriously, who goes to Snowmass to go mogul skiing and boasts about it? Oh, I forgot, Jeffy does.

Pretty comical stuff really, Jeffy calls me a joke and brushes off the bottom of Holiday as routine, then posts this as the best mogul skiing he's ever had?

Thanks for the history lesson on Floradora CDS, good stuff and I bet those deck parties were had slipped from memory for a good reason. ;)

Again, for those on the banned list.

Jeffy has the 2010 Bumpalooza video up. He did a nice job with it, fun to watch and a sequel would be great. The conditions were fantastic.

The clip I like best is that of Aaron @ 8:16. It looks like he's making a concerted effort to stuff the tips and ski over the tops. Jeffy put it in slow motion, which is great and even finished the video with it. I'd like to see more of that kind of footage if he's got it.

B-stead made a list of the running order, which is great.
