Do Racers or Freestylers make better Ski-Cross competitors?

Postby coldsmokedude on 23 Jan 2010 17:31

It seems to me that WC results indicate racers do better. Is that true? I think the event more closely mimics racing as compared to freeskiing. The courses are often ran on very firm snow and the jumps are not about tricks; just getting over them while staying as close to the ground as possible and in a tuck.

Yes No?

Is there a bigger message here? Is it that most Freeskiers/Freestylers don't have the technique it takes to generate speed and control on firm groomed snow?

The vast majority of current competitors come from the Apline discipline.

It is alpine skiers because it is really a race to the bottom. Why is it in freestyle is a ?

Freestyle has it's own technique known as Mogul Specific Technique.
