The
objects used to create the imagery in the
SITS method include: a beach ball, a teacup,
a common
spring, balloons, and other
recognizable
objects.
This may sound a bit
strange to you, but just read the following
example and you will see the extraordinary value
in using such objects to teach skiing.
Imagine you are holding
your arms chest high while hugging a large beach
ball (think 30 -35 inches in diameter).
Instantly, you have your arms correctly
positioned for all types of skiing. When
hugging an imaginary beach ball, your arms will
be at chest level and wide apart, with your
palms facing toward each other, and your elbows
held high. This is the arm position of expert
skiers. It’s just that simple!

Now, imagine using this
type of simple imagery, combined with mental
exercises, many on-snow drills, and motivational
goal setting to easily help you become a much
better skier in a short time. This is the
complete four part SITS program offered in this
book.
Reading the book will
supply you with many tips and tactics for
improving your skiing. These “best kept
secrets” are revealed, in this book, by
professional competitors and ski instructors.
Then we help you pull it all together using goal
setting, motivation, and the skier inside you,
as we explain visualization techniques that
build on your ski learning experience.
